Our use of the term Biological age is based on your vo2max. When we measure your vo2max we know your physical capacity. Combined with our knowledge of the average capacity for the public, based on age, we can say “how old or young” your cardiovascular system is.
When the VO2max increases the biological age drops. And so does the risk for most lifestyle diseases.
For example : The risk for for a 20 year old (chronological age) is lower than for a 70 year old (chronological age). By increasing VO2max a 70 year old can have the same risk as a 20 year old as long as the vo2max matches the average of 20 year olds.
